PRIMER SCHOOL • Pre-Kindergarten

PRIMER STAGE
Our youngest students are growing intellectually, physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually, so the care they receive as young children is vital to their later success. Pre-Kindergarten at The Classical Academy provides an inspiring introduction to classical education for little minds. Children attend school two half days a week and continue learning at home on the other days. Optional extension material is given to complete at home with a parent. The two campus days and two home enrichment days provide a solid foundation for kindergarten.
At this stage, play is their work! The Pre-Kindergarten day is full of fine arts, Scripture, language arts, phonics and math. Reading readiness includes a multi-sensory phonics program, and math is taught using hands-on activities that incorporate auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning modes. Play-based centers give children opportunities to engage in art, music, dramatic play, and sensory exploration.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL BE DOING IN PRE-KINDERGARTEN
• Students are immersed in classic works of literature, art, music, and poetry
• Students enjoy enrichment activities and art projects based off of classic children’s literature such as The Little Red hen, Curious George, Corduroy, The Runaway Bunny and more!
• Creative movement, games, songs, and crafts
• Gentle introduction to phonics & math
• Hands-on multi-sensory learning, and whole-brain integration learning techniques are woven into each lesson
• Bible stories & character training
• Memory and recitation of Scripture passages and poetry
