Grammar School K-5th

GRAMMAR STAGE
A child’s mind is like a sponge that can quickly and easily retain information. In the Grammar Stage, we focus primarily on mastering the facts of arithmetic, basic science, literature, scripture memory, writing, and language to build a solid foundation. In 3rd through 6th grades, students also learn the basics of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and translation through song, illustration, and composition.
WHAT YOUR STUDENT WILL BE DOING IN GRAMMAR SCHOOL
• Learn to read using phonics (K-2nd)
• Recite English grammar with songs & jingles (1st-5th)
• Memorize the U.S. Presidents and all 50 states (1st)
• Learn the 32 most prominent people/places in history:
• Old Testament & Ancient Egypt (2nd)
• New Testament, Greece, & Rome (3rd)
• Middle Ages, Renaissance, & Reformation (4th)
• Explorers to 1815 (5th)
• 1815 to Modern Day (6th)
• Learn the 32 most prominent people/places in the Bible:
• Genesis to Joshua (2nd)
• Judges to Kings (3rd)
• Chronicles to Malachai (4th)
• The Gospels (5th)
• Acts to Revelation (6th)
• Write in cursive (2nd)
• Memorize math facts (2nd-4th)
• Integrate fine arts into all subject areas
• Hands-on science activities and overview of major fields of science
• Life Sciences (K-1st)
• Astronomy (2nd)
• Ocean Life (3rd)
• Botany (4th)
• Chemistry & Physics (5th)
