Hands-On Experiential Learning

When you walk the halls of The Classical Academy, it's a regular occurrence to see students with their hands deep in craft supplies, participating in a fun game to extend a lesson, playing with play-doh while listening to a classic children's literature read aloud, or participating in a science demonstration or experiment.
The Academy provides a high-quality, rigorous, classical, Christian education, but it does not neglect the delight of meeting children where they are- laughing, creating, exploring, and expressing. See what our students are doing this year!
Literature Book Parties
Literature book parties are a highlight of the Academy grammar school. Every campus day, teachers read aloud from a classic children's literature book such as Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, Robin Hood, and many more. Once a semester, every class celebrates the ending of one of the read alouds with a book party! There are games, crafts, snacks, decorations, and activities all based on the book.

Engaging, creative, and fun extension projects in science, history, and even math!
After kicking off the study of Astronomy, students were given one planet to research and prepare a "news report" for the class. Each student delivered their news report in front of a green screen and real live camera man. The green screen allowed the videographer to input the planets on the screen in the background of the video as students presented their planets. This was a highlight for these students!
